Terry is a true Albertan.  Born in Brooks and raised in Camrose his roots run deep in community and commitment. From an early age, he was inspired by the selfless example of his parents, Tom and Ginny, who despite their modest middle class means, gave generously of both their time and resources to support the local community. 

That legacy of giving left a lasting impression.  Over the decades, Terry has continued to give tirelessly; offering both time and financial support to a wide range of organizations, always with humility and a steadfast belief in strengthening the communities around him.  

Terry is widely recognized for his leadership and volunteerism as a board member with prominent organizations such as the Edmonton Oilers Community Foundation, the Jerry Forbes Centre for Community Spirit, the Edmonton Eskimos Football Club, and the Alberta Enterprise Group.  He also served as Co-Chair of the IIHF Hockey Canada World Junior Hockey Championships and as Committee Chair for the NHL Heritage Classic. 

Terry’s professional journey in the industrial sector began in 1980, where he worked his way up from the warehouse floor into sales. In 1983 he joined Telford Valve starting in inside sales, eventually rising to second in command.

In September 1995, Terry co-founded Prism Flow Products with Rick Stanton. What began as a two-man startup has, over the past 30 years, grown into a thriving international valve company, earning them the nickname “the valve guys”.  This remarkable success is a testament to perseverance, grit, and unwavering work ethic. Now in his 46th year in the industry, Terry remains a respected leader and mentor in the field.

Of note is the impact that cancer and personal loss have had on how Terry views challenges in boardrooms, at work, and in life. These experiences have shaped his perspective, deepening his empathy and understanding, strengthening his resolve, and reinforcing what truly matters.

Through it all, in business, in volunteering, and in life, Terry has remained grounded in the values he learned growing up – hard work, community service, and integrity. His impact is seen not just in the success of Prism Flow, but in the countless lives he’s touched along the way.
