ABOUT TOAST OF THE TOWN
Toast of the Town is an annual event honouring Edmontonians who have made significant contributions to others in the community in need.
The idea for this event started over a cup of coffee. Six guys, all involved in the Cure Cancer Foundation in one way or another, decided they wanted to make a difference. The Toast of the Town was born – honour good Edmontonians while raising money for a good cause. The Toast was established to recognize and appreciate the oncologists, researchers, and staff at the Cross Cancer Institute.
The first year honoured long-time Edmonton Oilers Equipment Manager, Barrie Stafford.
Since then, we have honoured Kevin Lowe in 2022 and Cal Nicols in 2024
For 2026, the committee is in the final stage of candidate selection and will announce the new honouree in October 2025.
