ABOUT TOAST OF THE TOWN
Toast of the Town is an annual event honouring Edmontonians who have made significant contributions to others in the community in need.
The idea for this event started over a cup of coffee. Six guys, all involved in the Cure Cancer Foundation in one way or another, decided they wanted to make a difference. The Toast of the Town was born – honour good Edmontonians while raising money for a good cause. The Toast was established to recognize and appreciate the oncologists, researchers, and staff at the Cross Cancer Institute.
The first year honoured long-time Edmonton Oilers Equipment Manager, Barrie Stafford.
This year we are pleased to announce that we will be honouring Cal Nichols, who served as Chairman and NHL Governor for ten years, and saved the Oilers from leaving Edmonton (twice.)
Cal has been inducted into the Alberta Business Hall of Fame and has been recognized by many other organizations for his continued efforts in his community.
